Create a functional brief before reading package names

Ask the customer which functions decide acceptance and which are preferences. Family use, dealer resale and business travel can prioritise different equipment. Keep that brief short enough to demonstrate in the actual car. The original equipment record identifies the relevant version, but it does not determine which feature deserves the customer’s money. A package with many optional items may add little value to a buyer who needs only a few specific tasks. Conversely, a necessary function absent on the lower car deserves a supported solution rather than an optimistic assumption that it can be added cheaply later.

Use the applicable original-market equipment lists

Obtain production and original trim wording for both candidates, then match the feature record to their actual market and period. Original CS75 and PLUS packages need separate identification. Do not translate a domestic package automatically into a foreign Premium or Limited label. Keep factory options and seller additions distinguishable. The family boundary guide prevents one newer PLUS catalogue from filling an older original car’s missing configuration. A brochure is evidence for its stated range; the vehicle records and demonstrations establish what is being supplied. Ask for correction where those two descriptions conflict before attributing a premium to the name.

Test the equipment that creates the buying difference

Demonstrate relevant seat, climate, camera, display and ordinary control tasks. Presence and satisfactory operation are different fields. Use the equipment assessment to document offline functions and any regional services separately. A visible assistance icon does not certify an entire system, and a working call does not prove every phone application. Keep the provider’s assessment relevant to the fitted package. If a premium function is faulty or unavailable for the destination, decide whether the buyer can accept that limitation; do not value it as an already delivered working benefit simply because the higher trim originally included it.

Separate propulsion from optional equipment

A higher package can arrive with a different powertrain or driven-wheel arrangement, so identify the cause of the quote difference. Use the identified engine comparison and actual drivetrain review where applicable. Do not count the same change as both a trim and engine benefit. If the buyer only wants a cabin feature, a more expensive mechanical package may add support or operating requirements that matter to the complete purchase. Conversely, necessary powertrain suitability cannot be replaced by an attractive convenience list. Treat each decision independently before combining them into an accepted specification.

Compare condition before retail equipment value

Commission equivalent inspection and history checks on the actual offers. A high trim can need costly preparation; a lower package can have missing records or unsafe findings. The condition framework should make both evidence levels understandable. Obtain supported correction scope for relevant faults rather than guessing from a photograph. A feature’s original retail expense is not its automatic present resale value. Consider how the receiving provider can support it and whether an essential missing item can be supplied through an appropriate route. Record unfinished tasks rather than presenting the richer package as ready simply because its appearance is impressive.

Calculate the remaining useful equipment premium

Align currency, battery or powertrain scope where relevant, preparation and delivery services. Use current actual quotations for required work and included items. The dealer cost worksheet isolates the corrected difference. Ask whether that amount buys a repeated useful task, a comfort preference or merely an unfamiliar package badge. Do not predict that every future customer will repay the premium through resale. If the richer offer consumes the buyer’s reserve without solving an essential limitation, a suitable simpler unit may remain the stronger purchase. The calculation should show uncertainty rather than assigning zero to missing support information.

Accept a delivered-function list

Choose the package whose verified equipment and current condition fit the customer at an acceptable complete amount. Keep the essential demonstrated tasks and supplied accessories in the equipment schedule. A substitute with the same high-trim label needs its own relevant review. State any supported preparation still outstanding and which provider will close it. This lets a receiving dealer describe the chosen car without promising universal factory fitment, limitless software services or guaranteed residual value. A credible trim decision remains understandable from the useful functions and evidence rather than the badge alone.

Buyer questions

Should the higher trim always cost more to a particular buyer?

Its useful working functions and condition must justify the difference for that customer.

Can overseas package names identify China equipment?

Do not assume equivalence. Obtain the applicable original-market record.
